Our Story

The Will Power Project was founded in remembrance of William Dodd Massengale, who lost his life to suicide in 2023, following a year long battle with Fentanyl addiction.   We are a nonprofit movement of honesty, compassion, and awareness, to help end the stigma attached to addiction, and mental illness, in small, rural communities, and beyond. Through honest sharing, with open hearts, we hope to help those in smaller towns to understand that addiction and mental illness affect every community, and that these are not things to be swept under the rug, into the darkness, where they are most dangerous; allowing those suffering to feel the strength and support to step into the light, and seek help from family, friends,  or neighbors, at their schools, or workplaces, knowing that they will be met with kindness, love, and help,  instead of judgement.
